FALL 2022 CLASSES
THE ROYAL PRIESTHOOD
This course presents studies on the priesthood of the believer. It examines the functions, the responsibilities and the blessings of being a priest in the body of Christ. It presents the concept of priesthood and the intent of God for every believer to take their position as a priest in the body of Christ. As believers we should know that with our status as royal priests, we have unrestrained access to the throne of God and should understand what that means so that we can apply it in our daily life. In doing so, we enter an incredible dimension of spiritual liberty and effectiveness in the Kingdom of God.
FINDING GOD'S WILL
When you look at your life and who we are as individuals, we face decisions every day. Some decisions are big, some decisions are small, some decisions may be overpowering, and some may be minor, but as Christians we want to submit the choices we make to God's will.
Unfortunately for many of us, this process of discerning God’s will has become heavy-laden with with grief and fear and confusion and indecisiveness, leading us to ask such questions as does God really guide us, and if so how does He guide us? How will I know when He’s guiding, if it’s not me and the flesh? What if I make a mistake?
For those of you who are fourth level students who may be taking this course, I know you've taken many courses before, but I'm going to ask you a question. I'm going to ask you if you are walking in your spiritual gift? you might have taken a spiritual gifts class. Do you know what those gifts are and are you utilizing those gifts according to scripture? Are you walking in positive assurance and boldness and understanding or is fear or uncertainty keeping you back? Well this class will help us and help you overcome those fears and inhibitions as we find the keys to unlock these uncertainties.
In this class, we would look at Biblical and practical application exploration of divine guidance. We will show you solid foundations for understanding how and why God guides His people. We’re going to look at Daniel, we’re going to look at Peter. How did God guide them? We will discuss the role of scripture, discernment, wisdom, the council of others, and the Holy Spirit helping us to discover God's will. In conclusion, God's will is like a road so we are going to open up this road for you in this class. On this road some of you may run, some may walk, some may jog, you may skip, you may sing, you may be silent; however, what God wants is, He doesn’t want you to leave the road. He wants you to stay on the main Highway and how we do this is by walking in God's will.
The Kingdom of God speaks of the concepts of living by the laws and principles of the Kingdom of God. The Kingdom of God is not a denomination, the Kingdom of God is not a religious organization. It speaks of the rulership of God. It was the Gospel of the Kingdom that took men who were fishermen, tax collectors, etc. and changed them into reproductive Christians who reached the world with the gospel in demonstration of power.
The greatest concern and central purpose of Christ's life was the Gospel of the Kingdom of God. He began His earthly ministry by declaring the arrival of the Kingdom, Matthew 4:17; and He ended His earthly ministry by speaking of things pertaining to the Kingdom, Acts 1:3. His emphasis was always on the Kingdom. Luke 4:43 says, “And He said unto them I must preach the Kingdom of God to other cities also for there am I sent.” The scripture admonishes us and challenges us to seek first the Kingdom of God, Matthew 6:33; and to preach the kingdom of God, Matthew 10:8. He also tells us to pray for the Kingdom of God in Jesus' model prayer.
We are going to discuss the following topics:
- The invisible Kingdom
- King of Kings
- the kingdom past present and future
- keys to the kingdom
- peasants and principles of the Kingdom
- the culture of the Kingdom
- Kingdom parables, and
- ambassadors of the Kingdom
Jesus told his followers, “And this Gospel of the Kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations and then shall the end come.” There's a greater purpose than just understanding the principles of the Kingdom. The Bible also teaches:
- how one enters the kingdom
- how to become a resident and maintain residency
- that this Kingdom cannot be shaken by enemy forces and will never be defeated by violence and the violent take it by force
